Shameel Aubeelauck is a rising sophomore at Harvard College where he is pursuing a concentration in Government. Born in Romania and raised on the small island of Mauritius, Shameel has moved around a lot growing up and is grateful for all of the amazing opportunities traveling has given him. He currently lives in Kearney, Nebraska.
During his time in college, Shameel has dabbled in many different aspects of the public service journey from communications to policy writing. He spent the summer of 2022 doing research and policy writing for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, assessing the efficacy of the Immigration Registry. In the spring of 2023, Shameel served as the communications liaison for campaign manager Quentin Fulks as Fulks completed his Fellowship at the Harvard Insititute of Politics. Shameel is excited to continue his public service by working with Meteorite this summer. He is especially excited about working on The Choose Kindness Project because he believes that combating youth bullying and addressing the youth mental health crisis is of utmost importance.
When Shameel isn’t working, you can find him binge-watching Friends, working out, or playing tennis. Shameel also loves photography and takes any opportunity to get behind the camera!
