Sara Zeigler

Senior Advisor, Health Strategy

Sara Zeigler is a public sector executive with over 20 years of experience leading mission-driven community change initiatives. At Meteorite, Sara is a senior advisor for health strategy and provides direction to the Health Action Alliance and the agency’s other public health efforts.

Sara also leads Courage Forward Strategies, a firm that provides consulting services for public health initiatives focused on accelerating policy development and implementation, expanding strategic partnerships, driving effective planning, while prioritizing improving health equity.

Previously, Sara served as an executive leader at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While at CDC, Sara provided policy and program technical assistance and leadership in infectious and non-communicable disease programs. Sara spearheaded critical components of several global emergency responses, including the development of the Zika Action Plan Summit, CDC’s COVID-19 Health Equity Strategy and the National Forum on COVID-19 Vaccine. Sara was recognized with a CDC Honor Award for Excellence for Health Equity in the COVID-19 Response.

Prior to joining CDC, Sara worked with non-profit community-based and educational organizations. Sara earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs and Citizenship at Syracuse University and a bachelor’s in Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond.

She serves on the boards of Motherhood Beyond Bars and Atlanta Public Schools’ Midtown High School Parent-Teacher Service Organization, and is a regular volunteer with Intown Collaborative Ministries’ food pantry outreach programs for people experiencing homelessness and voter protection activities with the Democratic Party of Georgia. Sara is based in Atlanta, Georgia and resides with her family, including her two teenagers, husband, and an incredibly lovable black Labrador who likes to be a paddle board companion.
